Forest Park

Frequently Asked Questions for OUR Forest Park Area Members

We realize you may have questions regarding the closing of the Forest Park branch at 435 Forest Parkway, Forest Park, Georgia and its effect on your membership account. Therefore, we are providing you with additional information and answers to some common questions.

Q. Why is the Forest Park branch closing?
A. After a thorough and lengthy analysis, the Board of Directors and Management team have determined that the ongoing operation of a full service Forest Park branch does not meet the future strategic goals of the credit union. Over the past several years, there has been a significant increase in member transactions using remote/electronic channels and a decline in in-branch transactions. This decision will ultimately enable Georgia Power FCU to deliver greater value, better products and services through more channels to more members, which is critical to our continued success.

Q. Will the Forest Park branch hours of operation change during the transition?
A. No, the branch hours will remain the same. You may also call 1-800-360-6362 or 770-396-9005 during our regular hours of operation to speak with a Financial Services Associate.

Q. When is the last day the branch will be open?
A. The last official day the branch will be accessible is Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

Q. Does the closure have anything to do with the financial stability of the credit union?
A. No. Georgia Power FCU is a strong and stable financial institution. Your accounts are insured to at least $250,000.00 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government, via the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government Agency.
